This is the easiest no-sew multi-way top you might ever make! It’s called multi-way because there are multiple ways to wear it. If you follow along to the end of the tutorial, I will show you how to make this no-sew top, as well as the different ways you can style it.

Tools and materials:

  • 1½ yards of stretchy self-finished fabric
  • Scissors
  • Measuring tape
  • Fabric chalk
How to make a no-sew top

1. Prepare your fabric

Fold your 1½ yards of fabric in half twice so you have a square with four layers of fabric.

You only need two measurements for this no-sew top: the radius of your neckline and the final length of your top. I made a 4-inch radius neckline and a top that was 28 inches long.

Mark your neckline at the fully-folded corner of the fabric and mark the length from the tip of the fully-folded corner down one side. Then mark a 28-inch quarter circle around to the other edge.

2. Cut out your no-sew top

Cut along both of those quarter-circles. OK, believe it or not you’ve finished making your n-sew top! On to the multi-way styling.

3. How to style the multi-way top

Wearing the top as a poncho

1. Poncho

If you simply put it on straight over your head, then you’ve got a classy designer-inspired poncho. Add a matching wide fabric neck band to compliment the look.

Wearing the top off the shoulders

2. Off the shoulder

Just pull down the neckline to below your shoulders and you’ve got an off-the-shoulder poncho that is very glamorous.

Wearing the top on one shoulder

3. One shoulder

Leave one shoulder up and the other down, and it’s a completely different, slanted, one-shoulder style.

Wearing the top strapless

4. Strapless

Lower the neckline to just above your bust for a flowy strapless top.
