Easy Unapproachable Makeup Look Tutorial

Tools and materials:

• Eyeshadow primer
• Eyeshadow
• Eyeliner
• Moisturized Q-tip
• Foundation
• Concealer
• Cream blush
• Translucent powder
• Contour
• Mascara
• Lip liner
• Lipstick
• Setting spray

1. Prime your eyelids

Prime your lids with a base eyeshadow primer and set it with a translucent powder so it’s easier to blend on top of. 

2. Contour your crease with a warm brown eyeshadow

The eyeshadow work is going to be super simple because all of the drama is going to be created with the eyeliner itself.

All we will do here is contour our crease with a warm brown eyeshadow. This will give a warm depth. 

3. Shade in your eyelids 

Use a bone-colored eyeshadow to shade your eyelids.

I decided to keep this entire look matte, as opposed to reflective or iridescent, because those looks can give off an innocent vibe.

The intention behind this entire look is anything but innocent.

4. Apply black siren eyeliner 

This trend, nine times out of ten, is done with a siren eye so that’s the look we’re going for with our liner.

Siren eyeliner extends in a wing at the outer corner and elongates the eyes in the inner corner. Achieve this look with regular black eyeliner.

Sketch it on roughly, and then smooth it out with an angled brush.

Extend that inner corner into a point near the tear duct, and out and up in the outer corner. 

5. Clean up and sharpen the lines

Use a pointed Q-tip dipped in moisturizer to erase any shadow fallout under the eye and, most importantly, to sharpen your lines so they’re super precise. 

6. Apply foundation

This look is typically done with a full coverage base, but if your skin is doing well, you can use a lighter coverage like mine. 

7. Apply concealer

I applied concealer under my eyes, to my forehead, and my chin. Tap that in with a beauty blender.

When you get close to the winged liner under the eye, use a flat concealer brush for better precision.

Get the concealer as sharp as you can to the eyeliner wing.

8. Set

Set under the eyes with a finely milled translucent powder.

Since we’ll be using a lot of dark makeup around the eye, you need to set any cream products so the makeup doesn’t smear.

9. Apply and blend in contour

Contour your cheekbone, shorten your forehead, and snatch up your nose.

Blend around your face with a flat contour brush. Blend your nose with a smaller brush, then stipple it out with a damp beauty blender.

10. Tightline the waterline so it meets the top liner

Keep the black under the eyes super narrow, and you can do that by tightlining.

In this look, I’m not shading with eyeshadow at all.

Instead, I’m applying liner directly into the waterline and dragging it down to a point in the corner with an angled brush to meet the top liner. 

11. Apply blush 

To keep the whole face warm, use a cream blush.

12. Curl and apply mascara to your lashes 

Curl your lashes and apply as much mascara as you can to the top and bottom lashes.

13. Line your lips and apply lipstick

Line your lips with a brown lip liner and top it off with liquid lipstick. I did also pop on some gloss at the last minute.

14. Set

Give yourself a blast of setting spray, and the look is complete.
