Tools and materials:
- One hair elastic
- Bobby pins
1. Start with a ponytail
Put all of your hair up into a high ponytail and secure it with a hair elastic.
2. Make a messy bun
Flip your ponytail to the front, and using your thumb, pull the ponytail up through the hair elastic so you have two or three inches poking out.
Loop your hair elastic around the bottom of that small bun to secure it in place.
Now, flip your ponytail back over to the back of your head, letting it fall over the small bun beneath it.
Pull the same hair elastic over this second bun to secure it in place.
Use your fingers to fan the large out evenly over the top of your head.
3. Finish your messy bun
With the remaining bit of ponytail, twist the ponytail and wind it around the base of your bun.
Secure the base of your bun with bobby pins.
