Have you heard of the cold girl makeup trend that's going viral on TikTok?

Today, I'll show you this 5-minute routine to achieve bright winter makeup. You read that right–in just 5-minutes you’ll look like a snow angel. Let’s get started!

Tools and materials:

  • Face moisturizer
  • Sunscreen
  • Concealer
  • Lip balm
  • Concealer brush
  • Translucent Setting Powder
  • Large powder brush
  • Pressed powder to match your skin tone
  • Setting spray
  • Clear Eyebrow Gel
  • Eyebrow pencil
  • Blush
  • Blending brush
  • Eyelash curler
  • Mascara
  • Blush brush
  • Lipstick
Prepping the skin

1. Prep your skin

In the winter months, your skin tends to get very dry. To rehydrate your skin, start with a moisturizer.

With clean hands, apply whichever brand you love to your clean, dry face, and don’t forget your neck.

Next, apply an SPF – no matter the weather, the sun can still damage your skin.

2. Apply concealer and lip balm

Rather than going heavy with foundation, just spot correct with your concealer.

Apply spots to correct any dark spots, dark circles under the eyes, etc.

Applying concealer

I recommend letting the concealer dry partially before blending it in, as this gives better coverage.

While the concealer is slightly drying, apply lip balm to take care of chapped lips.

Then blend the spots out with a concealer brush.

3. Set the concealer

Use translucent setting powder to set all the areas where you used concealer to prevent it from creasing.

4. Set your whole face

Now, set your entire face and neck using a powder shade that matches your skin tone, along with a makeup sponge.

Setting concealer

Here’s why I use 2 kinds of powder: I like to set my concealer with a translucent powder (and not a pressed powder) so it won’t look cakey.

Also, if you leave the concealer as is, with only the translucent powder, it will look patchy in areas that don’t have concealer.

5. Lock in your base makeup

Now, lock everything in using setting spray.

6. Work on your brows

Use clear brow gel to perfect your brows. Brush the hairs upward for the feathered out look.

Then, press it down with the end of an eyebrow pencil, or just the weight of your finger.

Now, fill in any sparse areas with an eyebrow pencil that best matches the shade of your brows.

7. Apply blush to your eye sockets

To achieve the fresh, flushed look of this TikTok makeup trend, you’ll need a bright blush color.

Start by applying a bright pink shade with a blending brush to the hollow part of your eye sockets to define the crease.

Just very roughly blend it in. It doesn’t need to be perfect.

8. Treat your lashes

Continue by curling your eyelashes.

Then, apply your go-to mascara to your top lashes.

You can apply mascara to your lower lashes later if you feel like it. That’s what I did at the end.

9. Apply blush to your face

This step is essential for the cold girl look.

Using a blush brush, apply the same bright pink shade right under your eyes and onto the bridge of your nose.

Applying blush

Don’t worry if your blush is looking extremely pigmented at this stage.

Dip into your pressed powder and go over this blush using a makeup sponge. This will tone down the pink and melt it into your skin, giving you that flushed look.

Then, to mimic a chapped lip, use a small brush with the pink shade just above and below your lips.

Then go over this with pressed powder too, to make it look more natural.

10. Apply lipstick

Here I’ve chosen a satin matte lipstick.

Apply it to the center of your lips, then spread it out with your finger. It doesn’t have to be perfect since we are going for a chapped look.

Finally, I’ve accessorized with a scarf, hat and large hoop earrings, and here is the final look:
