How to Pair a Belt in the Summer

I feel like you are either a belt wearer or not. I’m not, typically, but I bought one to pair over a swimsuit for a vacation and challenged myself to wear it more since I bought it. So I put some looks together and I hope it can inspire others to pull out that belt you may have that you’ve never worn!

A good ol white shirt dress was the perfect canvas to help define the waist and keep a neutral palette. Added a cream bag and nude shoes and we have the “summer whites”look down!

Throw it on over a pair of shorts even if it doesn’t have belt loops or if the belt loops are too small. These are light weight and semi dressy so I thought I bring it up a notch and add a button down. You can never go wrong with a button down. Paired with heels and a fun neutral bag and we’ve got a super chic look for the summer!

A romper can sometimes be shapeless or hide your waist so belting this it can bring our eye to the center and give the illusion of a smaller waist.

Paired here with a skirt and bodysuit combo is definitely my favorite look. This screams boho chic!

Breaking up a solid color is the easiest way to use a belt. When you have a garment that is head to toe in one color or print, a belt can really help break it up and give it some interest.

Another example of a solid color doesn’t always have to be a dress or romper. Denim on denim or same color on color can be belted too to help brake up the long line.
