I’m going to the Renaissance tour in September and it’s going to be hot!

Instead of taking a regular fan, I’m going to glam up this fan visor into a mirror ball hat. The visor is available on Amazon and has 3 speeds.

Tools and materials:

  • Fan visor
  • Gray fabric paint and brush (optional)
  • Self-adhesive mosaic mirror tiles
  • Fabric glue
  • Scissors
Painting visor

1. Paint the visor (optional)

My visor is black so I painted it gray with fabric paint. If yours comes in white or gray, you can skip this step.

Cutting up mosaics

2. Cut up the mosaics

While the paint is drying, cut the mirror tiles into strips.

I used about one quarter of the pack, so about 2,500 tiles in all.

Peeling self-adhesive backing

3. Glue the tiles

The tiles are self-adhesive but I wanted to glue them in place, to be sure.

Peel off the self-adhesive backing from one strip at a time.

Gluing mirror tiles on

Lay down a line of fabric glue along the visor.

Press the mirror strip in place.

It took me about an hour to cover the visor completely.

I let it sit overnight to dry completely.

How amazingly cool and blingy does this look? The seller said the fan should last 3 or 4 hours, which should be plenty of time for me!

Do you think this looks cute? Would you wear it?
