Tutorial to Turn Your Scarf Into a Shawl
You’re going out, you don’t want to wear a coat or a boring cardigan but it’s cold. What do you do?
Take a scarf and turn it into a stylish shawl or wrap in just a few minutes, is what.
Tools and materials:
- Large rectangular scarf
- Hair tie
1. Wrap it
You’ll need a large, rectangular scarf.
It can be light or medium weight.
Wrap it around your waist with the opening at the front.
2. Secure it
Take a large, strong hair tie.
Gather the fabric together at the front and wrap the hair tie securely around it.
3. Knot it
Lift up the two inner front edges, one in each hand.
Knot them tightly together and drop them in front of you.
4. Lift it
Lift the top edge at the back.
Lay it over your shoulders.
5. Wear it
Now pick up the knot from the front.
Pop it over your head.
Arrange the edges over your upper arms to cover them.
DIY scarf shawl
Now you have a chic bolero top that you can style in so many ways.
Use a glittery scarf and tie it over a little black dress or keep it casual, as I have here.
I’d love to know what you think of it.
