The Best Nail Care Routine for Long Natural Nails
I’m no professional, but I love doing my nails at home, and here I’m going to share with you my best nail care routine.
I'm going to show you what I use and how I use it when I do my nails at home by myself.
Tools and materials:
- Nail drill
- Cuticle pusher
- Cuticle clipper
- Cuticle oil
- Base coat
- UV light
- Acrylic powder
- Top coat
1. Use drill machine
I start by using my nail drill machine.
I hate destroying my nails with chemicals, and I feel that this is the safest and fastest tool to remove old materials.
It takes time to get used to it, but once you know how to use it, it’s very easy. The only annoying part of this is the dust that covers everything around me.
2. File nails
If my nails need filing, I will file them at this stage.
3. Apply cuticle oil
Next, I apply cuticle oil.
3. Push back cuticles
I then use a cuticle pusher to push back my cuticles and I also use a cuticle clipper to clip the cuticles, if I need to.
4. Apply base coat
After that, I go in with a base coat.
5. Dry under UV light
Then I dry the nails under a UV light.
6. Apply acrylic powder
Next, I go in with another layer of base coat and dip my nails into some transparent acrylic powder.
Then I dry my nails again.
7. Apply second layer
My natural nails are a bit yellowish so after one coat of clear acrylic powder, I apply another one with a pinkish peach cream color to neutralize the yellow a little.
And that is the only color I apply to my nails.
8. Apply top coat
The last step is to apply a top coat.
I like to keep my nails clear without colored gels because I don't want to have to do manicures every two weeks when it becomes noticeable that the polish is starting to chip.
Doing it this way allows me to wait longer between manicures.
