Easy Body Care Routine for Dry Skin

Today, I’m sharing my body care routine that has helped me combat dry, flaky skin that ends up looking like chicken skin during the winter.
Follow along for my winter skincare routine if you want to learn how to get rid of dark spots from keratosis pilaris.
Tools and materials:
- Sea salt body scrub
- Sulfate-free shower gel
- Loofah
- Razor
- Shaving cream
- Body butter
- Body mist
1. Get the perfect water temperature in the shower
The first thing to keep in mind is the temperature of the water.
I know it’s tempting to take a steaming hot shower in the winter months, but it’s much better for the skin to use warm water.
When the water is too hot, it strips the natural oils from your skin, leaving it prone to dryness and damage.
2. Exfoliate your skin
After a quick with warm water, exfoliate your skin using a sea salt scrub. This step is crucial in the winter to remove dead skin.
Massage the product in circular motions, taking my time especially in the areas where I tend to get chicken skin.
Exfoliate in this way twice a week to change the texture of your skin.
3. Cleanse the skin
Next up, use a sulfate-free shower gel to deeply clean your entire body. Lather the body wash with a loofah or even just a washcloth.
4. Shave
Now, shave your legs, not only to remove the hair but also to further exfoliate the skin.
Make sure to use shaving cream or conditioner to soften the hair follicles and protect your skin from nicks. Then rinse clean.
5. Moisturize
While your skin is still damp from the shower, apply body butter to add back moisture and nourishment to the skin.
Look for a product that includes shea butter, cocoa butter and vitamin E.
6. Apply body mist
Lastly, apply a body mist to your skin to finish off this winter skin routine for added fragrance and a boost of dewiness.

For the body mist. Did you use a scented witch hazel or just a perfume type mist? I have never used a shower gel after exfoliating, thank you for the added idea it makes sense! Thank you!
