One Little Black Jumpsuit Styled Two Ways
Jump Suiting into June’s Ageless Style Linkup
Can you believe it’s June already? And it’s time for June’s installment of the Ageless Style Link-up. This month we’re styling jumpsuits and I’m showing you how I styled one little black jumpsuit (LBJ) in two ways.
What’s This “Link-up” I Speak Of?
The Ageless Style Linkup is a group of 10 fashion bloggers over the age of 40. We take one fashion theme on the first Tuesday of each month and style it in our own unique way, proving that style has no age limit. Style is as unique as the woman wearing it!
If you’re a blogger, join the party and link your own fashion blog posts at the end of this post. And if you’re looking for style inspiration, visits any or all of my co-hosts linked below.

A Jumpsuit Addiction
Last summer I had no jumpsuits and this season I might have a small addiction to them. If you’re only going to have one jumpsuit make it a black jumpsuit. It’s a fun and trendy version of a little black dress.
Summer is about to ramp up but I’m not sure Indiana’s weather is going to cooperate. It’s been raining like crazy here. But this past Sunday was my and The Hubs 35th wedding anniversary so we took advantage of a dry, sunny day and headed to breakfast, my favorite meal to eat out, and then stopped to snap the pictures of these looks. I know! Could we be any more romantic?

Jumpsuit for Daytime
Want to make any outfit more stylish for daytime? Add two things: A denim jacket and leopard print sneakers!
Where I’d Wear
Breakfast with The Hubs of course. And our other super romantic anniversary activity, going to home improvement stores. What did you think I was going to say?
What I Might Change
Besides the fact that this jumpsuit might need to be hemmed a tiny bit, I might add a t-shirt underneath it. First, it would give me a little more arm coverage if I took my jacket off. And second, I wouldn’t have to sit in a public toilet stall in just my bralette when doing my business.
Jumpsuit for Night
I only had to add a fabulous boyfriend blazer and heels to the LBJ and change up the bag to dress up the simple black knit jumpsuit. It seems kind of glammy to me.
Where I’d Wear
Date night here I come!
This look would be great for the office too. I might change out the pointed toe pumps for a lower block heel for comfort because they are less zazzy and I’m still having foot problems.
What I’d Change
Speaking of foot issues, once I get the jumpsuit hemmed a little, I’m going to make it a little funkier and a lot more comfortable by wearing this exact look with white sneakers. I tried it on as-is and it looked funny with the length of the jumpsuit.
Yes, plus size women can wear jumpsuits!
Jumpsuit Fit Tip
A while back one of my followers asked if a plus sized woman could wear jumpsuits. The answer to that is YES, plus-sized women can wear jumpsuits!
Whether you wear petite’s, misses or plus sizes finding a jumpsuit with the right proportions and rise (the length from the crotch seam to the waist) is the secret. Sshhh, don’t tell anybody! Oh wait, I guess I just did. 😉
Bonus Tip One:
Don’t layer too much on top of your jumpsuit because – BATHROOM!
Bonus Tip Two:
Stretchy jumpsuits without buttons or zippers are the most convenient because – BATHROOM!

Jumping into the Jumpsuit Trend
I’ll admit, jumpsuits aren’t the most convenient for bathroom breaks, but there’s something cool about wearing them. Or maybe it’s the mystery of how exactly one would go about getting out of it in a code brown bathroom emergency. When my sons were little they called this a “Melba-mattack”. There’s a story behind that, but I’ll just simply leave you with the knowledge that my mother-in-law’s name is Melba.
Have you ventured into the jumpsuit trend? If so, do you have any interesting stories to share? I promise I won’t mention your name on the blog. 😉
Be cute, comfy and confident!
