It’s that time of year again! Though this year, we don’t just have the 4th of July to celebrate nationally, but Juneteenth! Which means for the entire month of June AND July I’ll be wearing all my patriotic outfit ideas.

I will admit, I was one of the people who had no idea what Juneteenth was until last year. Which is so, so sad and unfathomable. So, I will continue to help others learn about it, even at the most basic level. Juneteenth was the day that the news of the Emancipation Proclamation reached the state of Texas…over 2 years after it had been issued. It was a step forward in enforcing the end of slavery. The recognization of Juneteenth as a federal holiday I personally believe is a step forward as well, but only a small one. The fact that I didn’t even know what Juneteenth was shows just how much progress we still need to make. I sincerely thank all of those who have educated me on Juneteenth and the discrepancies and discrimination across our country and the world. I hope that you continue to do so with other people, and that I may follow in your footsteps to educate others as well.

I’ve decided to share 3 patriotic outfit ideas with you all today. The great thing about red, white, and blue pieces is that they’re classic. Odds are, there’s something patriotic going on every month for you to wear these outfit ideas for. I’ve tried to mix things up a bit this year and not repeat any outfits. Which was easier to do with my Nuuly subscription. I do have some go-to dresses though when it comes to red, white, and blue.
