Take It to the Beach

Here I’ve looked at a few simple beach looks based around pastel kaftans

What to wear out for a day at the beach? Especially in the UK where the weather can change from hour to hour (or minute to minute!) and just when you had no idea at all, sunburn, everywhere! Well, my friends, the answer is the kaftan! Something so simple to chuck on, but can also be layered for sun protection or warmth. Here’s my pick of the best:

First up is this gorgeous linen Hannah shirt from Boden

Long enough that you could chuck on over a pair of cut offs or a bikini (I’m 5’4”ish) or so easy to style up! Plus, look at the pretty beach house/ seaside candy rock colours!

I have added a pair of pink Zara shorts and my favourite H&M rope sliders, with a bit of a french tuck to show off the lovely button detail on the shorts.

I have also styled the top with a pair of white jeans (trusty Levis 501’s, see my other posts for white jeans ideas) for maybe a lunch on the promenade?

My second kaftan is a full length one from the amazing Beach House Dresses. I have wanted one for ages and am so happy with the gorgeous colour and fit. They come in 2 sizes, Size 1 which ranges from 8-14 and Size 2 in 14-18, due to the little ties on the side. There is such a beautiful back story to this brand too which I love. My third kaftan option is actually from the Next kids range! I find with flowy pieces like this, there is always ample room, plus there is no VAT which makes them a bargain!

The one I am wearing is for a 16 year old, which upon checking the size guide is approximately a UK Size 10, but I would easily say that this could fit any range up to a 14.

So, who's for ice cream?
