Are you a fan of a white eyelet blouse? I think white cotton eyelet tops for women are so incredibly romantic. They can be styled in many different ways as I will show you. This particular white eyelet blouse with long sleeves is so pretty. The sleeves can be rolled up for a more casual look, or left down and worn under a jacket for a more corporate ensemble.

This white eyelet blouse has a collar which makes it a bit unusual. Most white eyelet tops are sleeveless and collarless. As you lovely followers know, I love scarves and necklaces both of which look especially sharp with a collar. Most white eyelet tops are made from cotton as is this one and the small holes or eyelets in the fabric make it cool to wear on a hot day.

Did you know that eyelet fabric dates back to Scotland in the 1700s when an Italian trader named Luigi Ruffini, traveled to Edinburgh and introduced this white embroidery? The precise holes are artistically arranged to make a characteristic fabric that is used in cotton clothing and linens.

Outfit #1 (White Eyelet Blouse Outfits)

I am wearing this darling cotton eyelet blouse from Sundance. The placket goes about halfway down the shirt and the eyelet lace pattern is so interesting. Pro-tip: The top has a higher in the front and lower in the back styling that I love as it allows for rear coverage in the event you wore this as a beach cover-up.

I paired the white cotton eyelet top with skinny white jeans as well as a block heel nude sandal. Pro-tips: White pants and shorts look sharper when paired with a nude sandal. And a little heel with skinny jeans makes one’s calves look narrower. For accessories, I added a turquoise bandana and coordinating sea glass earrings. Lastly, I wore my trusty Ebel watch to complete the classic styling.

Outfit #2 (White Eyelet Blouse Outfits)

This next outfit is a casual one with the white eyelet top paired with cute rolled cuff denim shorts. I added these espadrilles (old, similar, here) as I find them to be just as iconic as eyelet in the summer. So easy to walk in and with the ankle strap, they stay on my feet! (Unfortunately, I have very narrow feet which makes it extremely challenging to find sandals (and heels) that stay on when I walk!

For jewelry, I added a wistful of very inexpensive silver beaded bracelets, my Ebel watch, and small blue Patricia Locke earrings (old, similar, here). My bag is a great value and the colorful pompoms coordinate with my shoes!

Outfit #3 (White Eyelet Blouse Outfits)

This next look might just be my favorite! I wore the white eyelet cotton top with the sleeves rolled. Again, I wore the watch and earrings as in outfit #2. But this time, I added silver and turquoise dangly earrings (really old, similar, here). Pro-tip: Wearing turquoise and silver jewelry really elevates the looks of denim. It adds extra interest to the look.

For bottoms, I chose a pair of gently distressed jeans (similar, here). Pro-tip: I am excited to see that distressed jeans, especially the ones with the big rips and holes are losing momentum in the fashion world. I like a little bit of distressing as in this photo, but nothing crazy.

My belt is a woven one and my sandals are nude block-heeled ones. Lastly, I added this brown and tan tote to complete the cool vibe. Pro-tip: Pairing a brown tote with denim and white is such a classic styling, especially in summer.

Outfit #4 (White Eyelet Blouse Outfits)

Here’s how to wear this white eyelet blouse to work! Just wear it with slim black trousers and black patent leather pumps. Then tone down the jewelry by wearing “diamond” stud earrings, a pearl bracelet, and my stainless steel watch.

My bag is a simple black leather clutch that can take you anywhere. Pro-tip: A clutch can easily be stashed in your work tote and then retrieved when you’re headed out to dinner.

Lastly, I am wearing a pretty layered silver necklace that Mr. G.Q, gave me for Valentine’s Day this year.

So have I convinced you that a white eyelet top is a great investment piece? Consider adding this workhorse that can take you from a beach cover-up to casual looks, to work. Such a great item to add to your closet!

Happy Summer Dressing!
