How to Make a Cute DIY Floral Moto Jacket Using Appliques
In this DIY tutorial, I will show you how to add some charisma and feminine charm to your basic motorcycle jacket. I used a motorcycle jacket that I picked up at a thrift store, so if you can do the same, this will be an inexpensive thrift flip.
I'll show you how to add floral appliques to a leather jacket for a totally unique look, so it almost looks like embroidery. This is so easy to do, so let's get started.
Tools and materials:
- Motorcycle jacket
- Scissors
- Fabric adhesive (live E6000)
- Variety of floral appliques (2 large, 6 medium, 6 small)
- 55 inches of thin chain
1. Determine your design
Lay your motorcycle jacket out, face up. Place your floral appliques on your jacket according to your desired design.
2. Attach the floral appliques
Use your adhesive to glue your floral appliques to the motorcycle jacket sleeve cuffs. Start with one sleeve, and then mirror the applique placement on the other sleeve.
Tip: don’t be afraid to cut some flowers from the appliques and use them on their own to create your own unique look.
Next, glue floral appliques to both sides of the front of the motorcycle jacket collar.
3. Add chain to your motorcycle jacket
Using the same adhesive, glue thin chain to the inside of the motorcycle jacket placket.
Keeping the chain continuous, extend it from the top of the placket, all the way around the collar.
And extend the chain down the other side of the motorcycle jacket.
When you get to the bottom of the jacket on the second side, cut off the excess chain.

Now just let the glue on your motorcycle jacket dry, then put it on with some cool shades and you’re ready to go in style! It’s really that simple, so there’s no reason not to give this motorcycle jacket thrift flip a try!
