DIY Snake Skin Jacket

Hi Guys!!! It feels like forever since I made this snake skin jacket! Well to be honest, it has been! It’s been a year since I made this amazing jacket and I couldn’t share. I’m so excited the time has finally come because I adore this jacket. Let’s talk Minerva.com, shall we?

Sometime in the summer of 2019, Minerva reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in becoming a I said, of course! I get to make beautiful garments with free fabric, duh. Sounds like a no brainer to me. This snake skin jacket, as I call it, was my 1st Minerva make and I’m so happy I can finally share it with you guys! The fabric is called Woven Jacquard Fabric Taupe and it’s actually on sale right now for £5.99.

So, what took so long for me to be able to share? Well, there was a website redesign and rebranding on Minerva’s end and then Covid happened. I am happy to announce that the new Minerva.com website is up and it’s really super cool. It reminds me of a Facebook and IG all together for the sewing community. You can create a profile to share your makes and you can even link the fabric and pattern used. You even have the option of purchasing the matching thread! Anyone can have a profile on the Minerva site, not just if you used their fabrics to sew up your make. Head on over to Minerva.com and create a profile, share your makes and connect with other sewist from around the world! You can find my profile HERE. I’ll be sharing another Minerva make real soon!

If you want ALL of the juicy details on this jacket, you will have to head on over to my Minerva profile and read the blog post I wrote about this jacket. We will talk about this fabric and I also share 3 sewing tips that will help you make this jacket. I will tell you that the pattern used is Simplicity 8741 and I made View D.

OK, now that I shared the skinny on the new Minerva.com website, head on over and create your profile and don’t forget to give me a follow HERE.

Until next time,

Johanna
