Meet the Whitney Raincoat!

She’s finally here!! My newest pattern the Whitney Raincoat is here just in time for those April Showers! I’m so excited to introduce her to you.

The Pattern

The Whitney Raincoat is a swingy raincoat with raglan sleeves, inseam pockets, and a roomy hood. Whitney is fully lined and features side front seams as well as a center back box pleat for extra movement and color blocking opportunities!

The Name

Each Amy Nicole pattern is named after a woman who has been an inspiration in my life. This pattern is named after one of my fashion mentors, Whitney Pozgay of Whit-NY. Whitney is one of the few genuinely kind souls in the fashion industry, and she introduced me to the magic that is a swing silhouette.

Make it Yours

I always try to make my patterns customization-friendly! Make the Whitney Raincoat unique to you by playing with color blocking & print mixing. You could also experiment with length by making the coat longer for full length coverage or crop it for a trendy look! Skip the hood and sew it in a non waterproof fabric for a regular spring coat. You could even add fun details like grommets under the arms for air flow or a

drawstring in the hood.

The Whitney Raincoat is available in sizes 0-32. As with all Amy Nicole Patterns, she is drafted for petites (a height of 5’4″ and under). Taller sewists may need to add length to the coat and/or sleeves. Whitney is drafted with a swing silhouette, the coat is more fitted in the shoulders and flares out slightly for a subtle & playful shape with lots of movement. There is a center back pleat for a little extra flare and volume as well. The pattern hits just below the crotch line. The hood is roomy enough for a top knot!

The Whitney Raincoat is my most advanced pattern release to date! The coat is fully lined with a bagged lining and includes other challenging features such as a separating zipper, stand collar, gusseted hood & raglan sleeves. Don’t be scared! I have lots of tutorials coming your way to help you through the tough stuff in the Sewalong! Subscribe to my newsletter for sewalong updates!

The Video

I hope you love this new pattern as much as I do! She has been a long time in the making.
