How to Customize a Sexy Halloween Costume Bodysuit
In this tutorial, I'm going to turn a white basic bodysuit into part of a spooky Halloween costume by painting barbed wire and blood on it.
I’m going to show you the step-by-step process for how to make it because I think this is a great Halloween DIY idea. If you like to customize Halloween costumes, you’ll love this!
Tools and materials:
- White bodysuit
- Fabric paints
- Brushes
1. Paint on two wires
Take some black paint and a small brush and paint two entwined wires.
First, we’re going to paint one wire, which consists of two close-together parallel wavy lines. Then add the second wire intersecting the first by going over and under it.
2. Add more wires
Proceed to paint many wires all over the body suit all cross over one another. I’m only painting on the front of the bodysuit, but you can paint on the back as well if you want.
3. Paint on barbs
Now, paint the sharp barbs along the wire.
4. Paint barbed wire black
Fill in all the wires with black paint to make them look more vivid.
5. Add highlights
Now use white paint to add highlights on the wires to make it look like they’re a bit shiny.
6. Paint dripping blood
Next, we’re going to add the blood. I decided to paint blood drips, but you can make it easier by just splattering on red paint. Paint drips with red paint.
7. Add a darker shade
Then mix red with black and paint a shadow on the right side of the drips.
8. Add a highlight
Then use white to paint a highlight on the left side of the drips.
9. Paint on blood stains
Then I decided to paint stains of blood too to add a bit more drama. To make the stains, mix red paint with water. I also splattered on red paint using a hard brush.
How to customize a Halloween costume bodysuit
Here we have the finished customized barbed wire jumpsuit, perfect for Halloween!
I added some creepy eye makeup to match.
You can style this top with a pair of regular bottoms or incorporate it into a Halloween outfit. I think that the design is also quite trendy, so you can wear it the rest of the year as well and it doesn’t just need to be limited to Halloween.
