Save Money With This Easy DIY Hair Dye Recipe
If you have dark brown hair that you would like to lighten, and you are looking for a natural way to do that, then check out this DIY brown hair dye tutorial.
You can make this homemade hair dye with all natural ingredients that you probably already have.
Tools and materials:
- Large saucepan
- Spray bottle
- Comb
- Rosemary
- Black tea
- Shampoo
- Old towels or clothing
- Gloves
- Timer or clock
1. Gather your ingredients
For this DIY natural hair dye, you will need:
- Half a cup of nettle
- Half a cup of rosemary
- Five teaspoons of black tea leaves
- Half a cup of sage
- Three cups of water
2. Prepare the herbal brown hair dye
Place the nettle, rosemary, black tea leaves, and sage into a large saucepan.
Fill the pan with three cups of water, ensuring the herbs are completely covered.
Bring the water to a boil, then reduce it to a simmer and let the tea simmer for 30-40 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the tea to cool completely.
3. Strain and store
Strain out the herbal mixture to remove solid particles.
Store the liquid in a spray bottle for easy application.
4. Apply the herbal brown hair dye
Generously apply the herbal dye to your hair until it is completely saturated.
Comb through your hair to ensure even coating.
Leave the dye on for two to four hours, or longer for a deeper color, then shampoo your hair as usual after the desired time.
5. Repeat the application
This is how my hair looked after the first application, but this herbal brown hair dye requires several applications a week to achieve the desired tone.
This was the result I got from the DIY hair dye after using it three or four times a week for one month.
