Ingredient Notes

Manuka Honey: I love to use PRI Manuka Honey in this recipe. It is not only moisturizing and exfoliating, but packed full of other rich benefits for the skin.

Sweet Almond Oil: This is my carrier oil of choice for this recipe due to its silky smooth nature, however, you can use any oil you prefer. Jojoba oil, coconut oil, hemp oil and olive oil all make excellent choices.

Liquid Body Soap: Any kind of unscented liquid soap designed for the more sensitive skin of the body will work (do not use dish soap or hand soap!). Castile soap works well, unscented liquid body soaps or even an unscented bubble bath will do.

Vegetable Glycerin: Vegetable glycerin adds additional skin-soothing properties to this bubble bath recipe. It also locks moisture into the skin and protects the skin from harmful bacteria. I like to buy it from Mountain Rose Herbs.

Optional: This bubble bath smells wonderfully of honey, but if you prefer to customize the scent, a few drops of favorite essential oils or even vanilla extract can be used. Lavender oil would add a calming fragrance, whereas peppermint would be stimulating and energizing, for instance.

FAQ

Is this bubble bath safe for kids?

Yes. But keep in mind, depending on the type of liquid soap you use, it might burn the eyes if it makes its way in. Castile soap will burn eyes, but some gentle unscented soaps designed for children will likely be tear-free (and pain-free!). I also recommend omitting from adding any additional scents in the form of essential oils if using with kids.

Does this homemade bubble bath make a lot of bubbles?

This entirely depends on your choice of liquid soap. Castile soap makes minimal bubbles, whereas unscented bubble bath will make a lot of bubbles.
