DIY lipstick out of eyeshadow
1. Put the eyeshadow powder into a bowl
First, take any old eyeshadow that you have, or blush, or any sort of powder cosmetic.
This is great if you ever have a palette with lots of shades in, and there’s one that you’re not crazy about for your eyes, but you think it would make a really great lip color. I’m going to use a mauve color.
Then put some of the shadow into a mixing bowl. I’m just using the back of a makeup brush to help me scrape it out of the palette into the bowl.
2. Mix with vaseline
Next, just mix it together with some vaseline.
It creates a really beautiful smooth consistency.
3. Apply the lipstick
Once all mixed together, simply apply it onto your lips with a lipstick brush.
DIY beet powder lipstick
This is a more organic, natural way to make lipstick; we are using beet powder here. However, if you don’t have beet powder, you could do it with actual beets.
1. Mix the powder with vaseline
Repeat the same process as before, but this time with your beet powder. Beet powder tends to get hard, so you might need to break it up a bit.
2. Apply the lipstick
Once mixed with vaseline, apply it to your lips. This version of lipstick is more subtle than the first one. It’s not going to be as pigmented because obviously, eyeshadow already has those pigments in there, so this is more of a tint.
DIY lipstick out of eyeshadow & beet powder
We love these easy DIY lipsticks. I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing how you can turn eyeshadow or beet powder into lipstick. The vaseline helps to moisturize your lips and creates a smooth consistency.
You can also do this with any color, so play around, have fun, and see what shades you can create!

I've been doing this for years, using coconut oil, because Vaseline is made from petroleum (fossil fuel). The things that the industries have been allowed to convince us to put in or on our bodies really need to be reconsidered & better regulated.
I am going to do this later. It looks so fun!
