How to Make a Deliciously Fragrant DIY Lotion Bar - Great Gift Idea
Lotion bars are all the rage, but you won’t have to spend a lot of money on them if you follow this tutorial and learn how to make your own DIY lotion bars. Today, you’ll learn how to make two different versions of lotion bars with rose water and peppermint oil.
These lotion bars are made with simple ingredients so you can get started quickly, and they are great for your skin!
Tools and materials:
- 1/3 cup beeswax pellets
- 1/3 cup cocoa butter
- 1/3 cup coconut oil
- Matcha powder (optional – for color only)
- Rose water
- Peppermint essential oil
- Measuring bowl
- Microwave-safe mixing bowl
- Spoon
- Muffin pan
- Microwave oven
1. Mix the ingredients
Put the cocoa butter, coconut oil, and beeswax into a bowl. Blend the ingredients together with a spoon. If you want to add some matcha powder for color, you should do that now.
2. Melt
Then, melt the mixture in a microwave for two minutes.
3. Add fragrance
Add ten drops of rose water or peppermint essential oil (whichever choose to use) to the melted mixture. Do this quickly because the beeswax in the melted mixture begins to harden very quickly. Mix with a spoon.
4. Refrigerate
Spray the muffin pan with cooking oil and then pour or spoon the lotion bar mixture into your muffin pan.
Refrigerate overnight to allow it to set and then pop your lotion bars out of the muffin pan.
