How to DIY Makeup Remover Pads With Common Household Ingredients

Makeup remover is a real necessity. You never want to go to bed with your makeup on, but you can go through store-bought makeup remover wipes quickly. What do you do when you unexpectedly run out?
In this tutorial, we’ll give you an easy recipe for ready-to-use DIY makeup remover pads, so you’ll never run out again. And bonus – you’ll save a ton of money!
Tools and materials:
- Store-bought dry makeup remover pads
- Water
- Liquid coconut oil
- Baby wash
- Tea tree oil (optional)
- Bowl and spoon
- Small resealable jar
1. Prep your makeup pads container
Fill a small resealable jar with your favorite makeup remover pads.
2. Make DIY makeup remover
Add the following ingredients to a small bowl:
- 500 ml (2.11 cups) of water
- 2 tablespoons of liquid coconut oil
- 2 squirts of baby wash
If you are going to use your makeup pads only on your face (not near your eyes) and you have acne, you can also add a few drops of tea tree oil.
Mix your makeup remover solution together.
3. Package your makeup remover
Pour the makeup remover mixture into the jar with the makeup remover pads.
Go slowly when you pour, as the cotton pads absorb the liquid, the level of liquid in the jar goes down.
Keep going until your jar is full and the pads are fully submerged in the makeup remover.
Put the lid on your jar and shake it up gently to ensure the makeup remover is fully distributed and well-absorbed.
4. Use your DIY makeup remover pads
Now you can just remove your makeup remover pads from your jar as you need them.
Shake off any excess makeup remover, so they don’t drip, and use them to get all your makeup off your face and eyes.
You can see how well it works!
