How to Make DIY Plastic Nails Out of a Soda Bottle

In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to make fake nails that look real with plastic. The finished nails look very realistic and are a great money-saving way to make fake nails as they are much cheaper than store-bought ones. In fact, if you already have a plastic bottle, they are basically free to make. Follow along as I take you through step-by-step how to make DIY plastic nails.
Tools and materials:
- Plastic bottle
- Knife
- Scissors
- Rubber band
- Cup
- Nail file
- Nail glue
- Nail polish
1. Remove the label
Start by taking a plastic bottle and removing the label from it. Wash away any sticky residue.
2. Cut the plastic
Proceed to cut the bottle to remove the top part from it. When cutting, it is easiest to start with a knife and then continue with scissors. Cut off a section of plastic.
3. Roll the plastic
Roll the plastic and wrap it with a rubber band to hold it together
4. Soak
Soak the rolled-up plastic in hot water for 1 minute; this will help to soften the plastic. Once done, use a pair of scissors or tweezers to help you remove it from the water and dry it off with a paper towel.
5. Cut
Cut and shape the plastic so that it is the size of your nail.
6. File
Then curve the bottom edges slightly with the scissors so that the plastic fits the shape of your nail. Proceed to file the sides to get rid of any sharp edges.
7. Cut
Next, cut the nails to your desired length.
8. Apply the nail
To apply the plastic nail, stick nail glue on your nail and place the plastic nail on top, and press it down for a bit so that it adheres nicely.
9. Apply nail polish
The final step is to apply nail polish. Then simply repeat the process for all of your other nails.

Very clever and doable except you can never be around fire or heat(kitchens, cooking). Plastic melts!!!
Acrylic nails are flammable too(speaking from experience🙂)
