Get in the Tub With Your Jeans On
This is a really old school method that works whether your jeans are too tight or too loose. These days I’m more likely to want to stretch a pair than shrink them though!
It might seem a bit weird, but trust me - it works.
Tools and materials:
- Jeans
- Bathtub of warm water
1. Wear your jeans
Yep, just put them on as you normally would.
Even if it’s a bit of a struggle and you can’t quite get them done up, do your best.
2. Run a bath
Head to the bathroom and fill your bathtub with warm water.
3. Get in
With your jeans on, sit in the bath. Yes, really!
Sit there and chill out for about 15 minutes.
4. Bend and stretch
Get out of the bath. Keep your jeans on and bend, stretch and move around.
To make them looser, wear your jeans until they’re completely dry.
If you’re trying to shrink them, you could take them off and throw them in the dryer for this stage.

It may feel uncomfortable until they dry, but believe me, they’ll fit like a charm.
If it’s warm, feel free to go outside and dry them in the sun.
They can take up to 8 hours to dry in the winter though, so prepare yourself for that.
Now I want to know - are you going to do it?

I did it in the 1960's. Always worked for me and you only had to do it once to form fit your body shape. We always did it in the summer or very early fall while it was still warm.
Briget Bardot was famous for doing this to have her jeans form fitting and flattering.
