In this tutorial, I’m going to show you one of my favorite half-up wedding hairstyles for curly hair.

This look is classy and elegant, whether you’re walking down the aisle or just sitting near it. Let’s get started.

Tools and materials:

  • Heat protectant
  • Flat iron
  • Hair clips
  • Hairspray
  • Comb
Applying heat protectant

1. Apply heat protectant

We’ll be curling the hair with an iron, so spritz the hair down with a heat protectant.

You can do this in parts or spray down the entire hair in the beginning.

Applying heat protectant

Just remember to brush the heat protectant through the hair to evenly distribute it.

2. Curl your hair

Take small sections and wrap your hair inside and around the flat iron.

Curling hair

Slowly pull the flat iron down the length of the hair, then roll it back up to the root.

Curling hair

Gently pull the iron out of the hair, leaving the hair rolled, and clip it into place.

Curling hair

Repeat this step with all of your hair.

Removing clips

3. Remove clips

When you remove the clips, your hair will be perfectly coiled like this.

4. Apply hairspray and tease

Spray hairspray to the bulk of the hair, and then focus it on the roots of the hair at the top of the head.

Curls

Use a comb to tease the hair at the root for more volume.

Pinning hair

5. Curl two sections and pin at the back

Grab two pieces of hair at the back of the head and manually curl them inwards once. Pin the two pieces together.

Pinning hair

6. Twist and pin a section on the side

Loosely twist the hair on one side of the head and pin it underneath the two pinned, curled pieces.
