Transform a Purse to a Belt Bag in Minutes
A belt bag is an awesome accessory to have; it sits comfortably around your waist and won't fall off - even if you're working out! But did you know that if you have a purse with an adjustable strap, you can turn it into a comfy belt bag? Keep on scrolling to see my quick DIY belt bag tutorial!
Tools and materials:
- Purse with adjustable belt strap
- Marker
- Ruler
- Hammer and nail
Wear the strap
Put the adjustable belt strap around your waist and adjust it, so it sits comfortably around your waist.
Then, with a pen or pin, mark the belt where it sits the best. This mark will be for your new belt hole!
Create more belt holes
Grab a ruler or measuring tape and create a few more marks along the belt strap, a centimeter or two apart.
Make the belt holes
If you don't own a belt or leather punch, you can simply use a block of wood, nail, and hammer to get the job done right. Place your nail over the mark, and make a hole by hammering the nail down. Make sure you have a wooden board at the bottom for sturdiness.
TIP-
Once the nail has pierced through the belt, give it a good twist to create an open hole.
If you happen to have a leather or belt punch, then simply go over each mark on the belt and punch on through!
Cut the excess
Now, cut the excess strap from your belt bag, and your new no-sew belt bag is complete!
How awesome is my new bag? The best part is that there was no sewing involved, woohoo! I love this quick DIY belt bag idea, and I'm sure it will come in handy for anyone who wants a hands free bag!
