Let's get started with this DIY bath salts recipe!

Tools and materials:

  • Sealable jars for storing
  • Dried rose petals
  • Glycerin liquid or coconut oil
  • Scented oil (your choice of scent)
  • Plain Epsom salt
  • Measuring spoons
  • Mixing bowl and mixing spoon
How to make homemade bath salts

1. Combine the dry ingredients

Add 3 tablespoons of dried rose petals to 1 cup of Epsom salt in your mixing bowl.

Did you know? Epsom salt, also known as magnesium sulfate, has a different chemical makeup than regular table salt. Adding Epsom salt to your bathwater can help soften rough, dry skin, and exfoliate dead skin cells. But if you have any skin conditions, check with your doctor first before soaking with Epsom salt.

2. Add the wet ingredients

Add 5 milliliters of glycerin or coconut oil to the mix. Follow with 5 milliliters of your scented oil.

Tip: you can use whatever scented oil you wish. But if you want a softer scent, you can try lavender or rosemary oil as they have natural scents that work well in these bath salts.
