Tools and materials:
- Coconut oil
- Mango butter
- Avocado oil
- Electric mixer
- Spatula
- Sugar
- Jar
- Mixing bowl
- Essential oils
- Food coloring (optional)
1. Cut up the mango butter
Add 4oz of mango butter to a bowl. Use a knife to cut the mango butter into smaller chunks.
Mango butter helps firm and smooth your skin.
2. Add the oils
Add 1oz of coconut oil and 1oz of avocado oil.
Coconut oil soaks really easily into the skin. It helps hydrate and reduces redness. Avocado oil moisturizes your skin and promotes collagen production.
3. Whip
Blend the oils together using an electric hand mixer until the texture is creamy.
4. Add the exfoliant
Add the sugar. I am using organic sugar which is why the color is brown.
Mix in the sugar using a spatula, then go over it again using an electric hand mixer.
5. Test the mixture
Rub some of the whipped body scrub onto your hand to test the sugar levels. This will help you make sure that you do not have too much sugar in your mixture. We do not want it to be an abrasive exfoliant.
6. Add the scent
Add in essential oils for a nice scent, then mix. Add whichever scents you like. I am using rose and caroba, which will add a woody rose scent.
7. Add your coloring
Add in your coloring. This is food safe and safe for your skin. Corporate until the mixture is the color that you would like.
8. Finish the scrub
Grab a jar and fill it with your DIY sugar scrub.

Hi Bella, thank you for sharing your recipe for the scrub. Do you keep this in the refrigerator to avoid mold or does the oil retard the growth of it?
