My mom had some wood beads that I found (the apple doesn't fall far from the tree) and I thought they would make really cute earrings.

I used 3 different types of wood beads that I thought had a tribal look to them.

Using silver earring making pieces, I twisted a piece of metal around the largest bead to create a hook.

For the middle bead, I created two hooks and looped them through the larger bead hook and the red bead hook. I did this all using pliers and using the shape of the plier to determine the hoop. The metal if soft enough that it can be manipulated with out being heated but once the hooks are in place it isn't soft enough to come apart.

Similarly, I had to create a hook at the top of the red bead as well to connect to the fastener that you place in your ear. All the tools and metal earring pieces can be found at Michaels or another craft store.

I think it came out so cute and unique!
