DIY Neon Geometric Statement Necklace

Recently I was wandering the aisles of the grocery store and found myself so inspired by the water play/pool section. It’s the funnest section of the store, you guys. All the neon! All the fun shapes of buckets and shovels and pool toys and floaties! It makes me happy. So I decided to channel this love of neon and shapes into the funnest statement necklace that’s ever graced my neck. And it was SO easy to make. I’ll show you how.

Supplies Needed:

Unfinished Beads (I found mine on Etsy)

Paintbrush

Stain

Paint (I used DecoArt Americana Neons)

Tape

String/wire/etc.

1. I wanted my beads to have a high contrast against the paint so I decided to stain my beads before painting them. I used a basic gel stain that you can find amongst your craft paints at your craft supply store and just slapped it on the beads.

2. Once the stain is dry paint your beads! I used tape to make straight lines and give the beads a dipped effect.

3. Let beads dry!

4. String your beads and add any clasps or tie to secure and you’re DONE!

SO fun, right? And just think of the color + shape possibilities! I’m obsessed.

This sucker is going to make a big impact in your accessory drawer. Now get to crafting!
