Need a Cute 1940s Hairstyle? Try This Lauren Bacall Hair Tutorial

If you are looking for a fabulous, classic vintage hairstyle, this is the one! Follow along to learn how you can get this 1940s hair inspired by the seductive and sultry Lauren Bacall, one of my favorite actresses.
It’s a simple hairstyle that will get rave reviews. Let's recreate Lauren Bacall's hair!
Tools and materials:
- Curling iron
- Hairpins
- Hair wax
- Hair spray
- Densely-packed teasing brush
1. Start with curls
Begin by curling all of your hair using your favorite curling method. I used a ½-inch curling iron to curl everything under and back, then pinned them in place.
You can use a hot curl spray to help hold your curls in place.
2. Brush out your curls
Remove your hairpins and make a side part in your hair. On the parted side of your hair, use a densely packed teasing brush to brush through your curls, bring it over your ear and down as you brush.
On the other side of your hair, brush back from your forehead and down.
3. Finish the parted side of your hair
Use your fingers to incorporate a bit of hair wax pomade into your hair.
Brush your curls right to the bottom and brush the bottom under.
Tuck your hair behind your ear and pin it in place.
4. Finish the other side of your hair
Brush down on all the curls and brush the bottom under as you did for the first side.
5. Lift your bangs
Take a small section of bangs from the non-parted side of your hair right next to your part and back-comb that section.
Then, spread out the section a bit with your fingers and spray it with hair spray.
Repeat, one small section at a time, until you have done all of your bangs.
Now, lightly brush over the top of your bangs, brushing the top a bit to the side so it’s a more subtle wave.
Give it another spray.
6. Add volume to the bottom
Lightly back-comb the bottom of the curl on the inside.
