So you know how to create casual white t-shirt looks with jeans or sweatpants, that’s a no-brainer, but perhaps you’re not so clued up when it comes to creating more formal looks with your white tee. In this style lookbook, I’m going to show you how to dress a white t-shirt up to create sophisticated and elegant outfits.
Everyday chic
To start with, I've gone for a pair of faux-leather pants, which I've paired with heels. I'm also wearing and a beige blazer on top of the white tee. The appeal of this outfit is in its simplicity; we don't have any sparkles or frills or show-stopping accessories, just crisp lines, a flattering silhouette, and an elegant everyday look.
Neutral basics
Sticking with a neutral palette, here I’ve paired a tan mini-skirt with a white t-shirt and cream jacket. Going for nude heels is a great way to elongate your figure as they add height while remaining fairly unnoticeable.
Paperbag shorts
You may have noticed a pattern emerging here, that's right - blazers. Blazers, for me, are an absolute must-have. They are an effortless way to elevate any outfit, and though they may have once been reserved as a workwear piece, now boundaries have been blurred, and you can incorporate them into your everyday wardrobe. I've paired the blazer with a pair of paper bag shorts in the same color.
Black and white
Here I've gone for a black and white contrast look. You can't go wrong with black and white; the colors really do all of the work for you. I've paired a black blazer and mini-skirt with a pair of calf-length boots and a crossbody bag.
Girl next door
In this look, I've opted for a soft, feminine cardigan instead of a blazer. The cardigan is cute and casual and creates that girl-next-door aesthetic. I've kept it simple by pairing it with a black mini skirt, brown pumps, and a crossbody bag—an easy and everyday look.
Canadian tuxedo
Denim on denim is a great styling tip. However, wearing two pieces in the same tone could leave you looking a bit monotonous and uninspiring, so I've gone for two different shades of denim to keep things fresh: light blue jeans and a dark denim jacket.
Lemon yellow
Here I've gone for a lemon-colored sweater draped over my shoulders and a yellow pair of heels. Wearing these colors, I imagine myself sipping a tall glass of iced lemonade on a cool summer afternoon. I've kept the outfit looking light by pairing the yellows with white skinny jeans and a white tee.
Plaid blazer
A plaid blazer is a great piece for any woman to have in her wardrobe. In this outfit, the print is a stylish addition to this otherwise minimalist look. Again, I’ve gone for neutral tones here with beige pants and nude heels. Neutral colors are a great palette to work with because they are versatile and work with pretty much any other color you style them with.
By adding a blazer and a pair of heels, you can transform a plain white t-shirt from a casual everyday piece to something more dressed up and glam. Go for pants that will flatter your figure and skirts and shorts that will elongate your legs. The addition of a cute bag and other accessories will create a gorgeous look where you can stand tall and walk confidently with a smile on your face.
