How to Do a Fun Mad Hatter Makeup Look For Halloween

Spooky season is on its way as I'm sure you're all well aware, and I've been seeing the Halloween posts creeping onto my Instagram feed that told me that it was about time I started thinking about my outfit.
Recently I dyed my hair orange and I was thinking about what film characters have orange hair that I could dress up as. I decided to go as the Mad Hatter from the Johnny Depp version of Alice in Wonderland.
Tools and materials:
- Concealer
- Eyeshadow
- Contour
- Blush
- Brow glue
- Mascara
- Lipstick
- Highlighter
- False lashes
1. Concealer
I decided to steer clear of face paint for a base and instead I went with the lightest concealer I have. Apply concealer to your face and blend it out.
2. Contour with purple eyeshadow
Use a dark shade of purple eyeshadow to contour your face. Keep it nice and light as we don’t want it to be too obvious. You can dull it down with a contour brush.
3. More contour
Next, take a medium contour and try to make your cheekbones look extra chiseled. Apply some to the forehead and jawline as well.
4. Blush
Take a sparkly pink blush and dust it on the apples of your cheeks. Then take a bright pink blush and contour your nose. Take it all the way into your brow and blend it out. Next, take a white eyeshadow shade and highlight all the way up the center of your nose.
5. Eyes
Take a bright pink shade and lightly drag it under your right eye and then apply it to the lid of your left eye and bring it all the way up to your brow for an extravagant eye look.
Wing the eyeshadow out slightly, not all the way to the temple but to the tail of your brow. Then connect it to the nose contour as well.
Next, take a brownish-red shade and pop that on the outer corner of your eyelid.
The next step is you cut your eyelid crease from slightly further in than your inner corner. Drag it downwards to outline your nose contour just at the top. Then take the white shade and put it on top of the concealer.
When done, draw a line with a creamy white eyeshadow and a fine brush on top of that section.
For the other eyelid, apply an electric blue eyeshadow all over the lid. Then apply some navy blue to the outer corner. Next, repeat what you did with the cut crease on the other eye.
Once done, apply some creamy white eyeshadow or white mascara to your lower lashes on both sides.
6. Brows
Brush some brow glue into your eyebrows with a mascara brush to get the hairs to stand up.
Then take some reddish-brown lipstick on a thin brush and paint your eyebrows. Paint a normal brow but towards the center, you want to make it bigger and more exaggerated with bigger stroked.
Proceed to go in with some concealer and outline the hair strokes that you’ve made to make them look super prominent.
7. Highlighter
Apply a champagne-colored highlighter to the parts of your face you usually apply it to. Then blend it with the contour shade.
8. Lips
Use the same lipstick that you used for your eyebrows to paint your lips
9. Lashes
The last part is the icing on the cake and that is to apply some false lashes. Go for a pair that are intense and dramatic.
Mad Hatter makeup look
I really like how this Mad Hatter turned out. I was able to be creative and think outside the box and the result is this awesome look.
The extravagant, crazy makeup looks great and is so perfect for Halloween.
