In this DIY, I’m going to show you how to make some marble and wire earrings. If you have some marbles lying around and you weren’t sure what to do with them, now you have a purpose for them. Let’s jump on in!

Tools and materials:

  • Marbles
  • Wire
  • Pliers
  • Earring hoops

DIY marble earrings

Wrap wire around the marble

Take a marble and some wire and start off by bending the tip of the wire and wrapping it around the marble. This part may be a little tricky at first, but once you get the marble in place, the rest is very easy. You’re going to keep wrapping it around until you’ve firmly secured the marble and you’re happy with how it looks. You want to wrap some wire around at the top, which will help form the neck of the earring; you can make this neck as long or short as you want. Then leave a little bit of wire sticking out at the top.

Tighten the wire

Now take the pliers and tighten the wire around the marble to further help secure it in place.

How to make marble earrings

Tuck in the short side

Then wrap around the short side of the wire so that it doesn’t poke out.

Simple marble earrings

Make a hoop

Now take the longer piece of wire and make a hoop. Once done, cut off the excess wire leaving a little piece, and wrap that piece around the neck. Repeat the whole process for the second earring.

Attach the pendant

Now take your earring hoops and put them through the pendant.

And here we have the final look! I love the contrast of color between the misty purple marble and the silver wire. You can, of course, go with whatever color marble you like, and if you want to make it asymmetrical, you could choose a different color for each earring. The twisted wire encapsulates the marble really nicely, and I’m really happy with how these earrings look. They only take three minutes to make, and I hope you’ll give them a go.

So pretty! Have you ever heated glass marbles then put them in cold water really quickly? They crackle inside and look amazing!

You can put them in a heavy bottom frying pan on top of the stove or place them in a casserole dish and heat them in the oven. When they’re hot you dunk them in ice cold water. It causes a really pretty crackle pattern in the glass.
