How to Crop a Denim Jacket Without Cutting It
Sometimes just as you’re walking out the door, you realize your outfit would look so much better with a cropped jacket instead of a hip length one.
This happened to me recently and I didn’t have a cropped jacket in the right color. So here’s what I did.
1. Fold it
Unbutton your jacket.
Fold the side with the buttons to the inside up to the length you want.
I find that just below the third button is a good length for me.
2. Button up
Hold the corner with the lowest buttonhole. Fold the fabric up inside.
Fasten the right side of the bottom buttonhole to the top button.
3. Button over
Now do up the top button as you normally would, so both buttonholes are fastened to the same button.
4. Continue
Close the other four buttonholes in the same way.
Fasten the inner one of each pair first, then do up the outer buttonhole over the same button.
5. Even up
Check that the lower edge is even all the way around.
Smooth out any bunched up fabric so it lies flat.

Well it was a quick and easy hack, but I think it turned out pretty well, considering.
It certainly did the job for me, in a pinch. Of course, I couldn’t unbutton my jacket, but that wasn’t an issue.
