Quick and Easy Rope Braid Tutorial for Beginners
Hi everyone. Today, I'm going to show you a super easy rope braid tutorial.
Tools and materials:
- 2 ropes of equal length
- Clip board
- Hair brush or comb
Creating a rope braid for craft purposes
1. Set up
Use 2 pieces of the same thickness. Tie them at the ends and clip in place with a clipboard.
2. Twist each strand individually, to a point
Twist each piece, individually, in the same direction for a few inches of the rope.
Hold on to your 1st, twisted portion of rope as you individually twist the 2nd rope.
3. Twist them together
Then twist the 2 pieces together in the opposite direction until you reach the end of the twisted portions.
4. Repeat
Continue twisting the individual stands as you go.
Then twist the 2 strands again. Repeat this back-and-forth between individually twisting and then twisting the strands together until you reach the end of the ropes.
Tie off the ends to create a necklace or other craft piece.
Use the final rope braid for jewelry or any other craft project.
Creating a rope braid hairstyle
1. Set up
Brush your hair to detangle. Split your hair into 2 equal sections at the back, pulling each half in front of either shoulder.
Then split 1 side into 2 equal portions of hair.
2. Twist individually
Twist each strand, individually, in the same direction, until a point.
Make sure you have a steady grip on each so they don’t unravel.
3. Twist together
Cross 1 strand over the other to twist them together in the opposite direction.
Keep doing this until you reach the end of the individually twisted portions.
4. Repeat
Continue twisting each strand individually.
Then cross them in the opposite direction to twist them together, like before, until you reach the end of the hair.
Then tie it off with a hair tie or elastic. Repeat on the other side.
