One of a Kind DIY Slides
I got these cheap and simple slides from Target and knew I wanted to make them into something fun and original! These easy DIY slides take an ordinary shoe and turn it into an extraordinary one.
Tools and materials:
- Black slides
- Scissors
- Straps
- E6000 glue
Attach the strap
Cut off the red leather piece on both sides of the strap and then trim any excess fabric. Next, lay the strap across the shoes and cut it to size (so that it can stretch all the way across). Place the strap over the center of the shoe, gluing it in place with the E60000 glue. Press it down for about thirty seconds to secure it. Repeat the same process with the second shoe. (If, like me, you managed to ruin the second piece of fabric by making it too short, simply use some of your leftover straps to fix it up!)
Attach the leather piece
Take the red leather piece that we cut off earlier and glue it onto the shoe, slightly off-center. Hold it in place for about 60 seconds to make sure that it doesn’t slip. After that, let the slides dry overnight. Once everything is dry, cut off any excess fabric and then secure the edges with clear nail polish. The nail polish will keep the fabric from fraying.
I am so happy with how these trendy DIY slides came out. They are unique and completely one of a kind and at a fraction of the price of regular decorated slides. Mess around with the colors, fabrics, and patterns, really make them your own.

Sooo cool! Thanks for sharing!
I did not see where the red leather piece came from. I just saw the instructions to cut it off. Did I miss something?
