Those flip flops at the dollar store are so great, but sometimes they are a little boring and need a little facelift. I found a pair of bee flip flops that would be perfect for my daughter, and here is how I updated the plain straps. You can see more of my crazy creations here

Here's a quick look at the plain old flip-flops from the dollar store. Now I did this with these inexpensive flip flops but you could do this with slides, and other styles of flip flops as well. It's a simple way to give them a little extra.

I wanted to tie in the bee aspect from below and add it to the simple and boring straps. I started by using a permanent marker and making little stripes all along the straps spacing them out.

Next, I widened the stripes to become more of a bee stripe and more noticeable. You could do this with paint instead of the marker as well if you prefer.

My daughter's nickname is B and I find little things like this to give her and I love that these are useful.

You could also change up the color by using a variety of colors and have fun with it creating a rainbow, school colors, and more.
