Turning an Old Suede Skirt Into a Dream Set
Has your old suede skirt past its prime? Don’t toss it! Turn that skirt into a new dream set for a whole new outfit!
Tools and materials:
- Knee-length or longer suede skirt
- Scissors
- Decorative trim
- Sewing thread
- Grommet kit
- Decorative cord
- Sewing machine
1. Cut your old skirt
Cut the bottom off your old skirt, so that the top part of the skirt is the length you want for your new skirt.
2. Decorate your skirt
Sew two strips of decorative trim, evenly spaced, to the front of your skirt.
3. Use the cut piece of fabric to make a top
Trim the cut piece of fabric as needed to fit around your bust.
Add decorative trim to the top, bottom, and inside edges of your top.
Use a grommet kit and decorative thin rope to add grommets to both inside edges.
Thread rope through the grommets to make a tie front for your top.
