Finding the sleeve position by measuring wrist to wrist

1. Find a sleeve position for your scarf cardigan

Make sure your scarf is long enough to reach from one wrist, all the way around your back and down to your other wrist.

Wrap your scarf around you so that you have an even amount on both sides.

Pinching the corners together to make the sleeve

Drop one side of the scarf, and on the side you are still holding, pinch the two corners together to create the sleeve shape.

Pinching the sleeve at the elbow

While holding on to that corner, slide your other hand up the scarf and pinch it together just above your elbow.

Now you can let go of the wrist corner and use that hand to hold on to the elbow corner while you pin the scarf together just above the elbow.

Pinning the side of the scarf to make sleeves

Measure your scarf from the wrist end to the pin and pin the other side of the scarf at the same point for your second sleeve.

Sewing the sleeves

2. Sew the sleeve into your scarf cardigan

Hand or machine sew your sleeves on the right side of the scarf. Alternatively, if you really don’t want to sew, and you’re fine with a temporary solution, use a glue gun to make the sleeve seams.
