Use This DIY Technique to Create Your NYE Outfit
If you’ve never applied foil to fabric before, here I’m going to show you how to do that!
We’re going to create a shiny silver sweater vest that will be great for wearing this festive season. Let’s jump on in!
Tools and materials:
- Sweater vest
- Foil transfer gel
- Foil
- Paintbrush
- Iron
- Ironing sheets
1. Apply glue to sweater
Lay your sweater vest down flat and then apply glue to a section of it with a paintbrush.
2. Lay foil on top
Now, lay a sheet of foil onto the section where you’ve applied the glue.
3. Press foil down
Press the foil down to ensure that it really sticks to the glue.
4. Iron foil on
Place an ironing sheet on top of the foil and then iron onto it to get the foil to adhere to the sweater.
5. Peel away carrier sheet
Now peel away the carrier sheet, and you will see that the foil is securely adhered to the sweater.
6. Repeat
Now, repeat this process.
You can apply foil all over your sweater or only on certain parts of your sweater, depending on how much coverage you want.

Here is the finished look! I love the contrast of the shiny silver against the white cotton background.
As you can see, I decided to place the foil only in certain areas, but the beauty of this DIY is that you can design it exactly as you like it.
