Hey, you guys, I've got a really snuggly make to share with you. It's a really warm and stylish cardi, long line and stylish. I'm going to share all the good stuff with you, how to make it and how to style it two ways. For work and play!!

I'm making the Helens Closet Blackwood cardi

Blackwood Cardigan » Helen's Closet Patterns (helensclosetpatterns.com)

in this warm and cosy cotton interlock from Minerva.com

One of the best things about making my own clothes is adding pockets, isn't it annoying when there's no pockets to carry all those vital items, like car keys and a mobile phone. Well, the Blackwood pattern embraced that need and the first thing we are going to do is make those pockets. They are actually two pieces of fabric stitched together; this gives the pocket top a lovely substantial edge. Once they are made, they are stitched into place on the two front pieces.

Don't those pockets look smart?

Now we're making good progress, the two front sections are joined to the back at the shoulder seam, stitching right sides together

You can see here, were stitching the sleeve to the main body of the cardi.

After stitching the sleeve to the body, we stitch the inside sleeve seam and the side seam together in one long seam!!

Almost finished just the cuffs to add and then hem the bottom and we're wearing our latest make!!

We can style this great cardi with a smart skirt and blouse for a day in the office?

But this is my favourite version, the cardi is dressed down, cosy and comfy on my day off. Chasing the kiddies round, and shopping. I'm wearing it here very casually with my fav faded jeans and a stripey tee shirt. Which way would you wear it?
