This Style is Great for Unwashed Hair

Are your roots unwashed and looking greasy? And you don’t want them on display? Well, I’m going to show you a great hairstyle for hiding your roots.


Follow along as I show you what to do!

Tools and materials:

  • Hair elastics
  • Hair tie
  • Comb
  • Bobby pins
Making braid

1. Make a braid

Start by parting your hair down the center. Then take a small section of hair at the front of your head on one side and braid it.

2. Make a second braid

Now make a second braid next to it.

3. Repeat 

Proceed to make two braids on the other side of your head.

4. Tie ponytail

Tie a half ponytail at the back of your head and then backcomb the ponytail.

5. Make a bun

Wrap the ponytail round to form a bun and clip it in place with bobby pins.

6. Wrap around braids

Then, take the braids, bring them all to one side of your head, and wrap them around the bun.


Clip them in place to secure them.

Here is the finished look. The top part of my head is concealed with the braids and the bun, which totally draws attention away from my greasy roots.


I also love how all four brads swoop in one direction to create an asymmetric design. Give this look a go for yourself!
