You just can't beat a comfortable pair of sweats, and this project is the perfect combination of cute and comfortable. Here's how to turn basic sweatshirts and sweatpants into a dynamic color block crop top and pants set with some simple sewing! Plus, you can actually get two outfits out of this.

Place the pairs of sweatpants on top of one another, making sure everything is lined up neatly. Then fold them in half vertically, trace the angled line and cut along the line through all layers (make sure your scissors are sharp!).
Flip everything inside out and assemble the colors the way you like. Then pin along the cut edges of the top layers, making sure not to pin the bottom layers (so you don't accidentally sew the pant legs shut).
Sew along the pinned edges, removing the pins as you go. Again, make sure the layers aren't stuck together so you don't sew the pant legs shut!
Now that the pants are done, complete the same process with the sweatshirt. Layer the sweatshirts on top of each other and fold in half vertically. Then trace the angled line and cut along the line through all sleeve layers.
Unfold everything and trace the line at the bottom of the sweatshirt where you'd like to cut to create the crop top. Then cut along the line. You can also just leave it full length, if you'd like.
Flip everything inside out and carefully pin the sleeves together along the cut edges. Then fold the bottom edge over about an inch and pin it in place. This will be the casing for the elastic cord to cinch the waist.
Sew along the pinned edges and the cropped bottom.
Keep the elastic in place by attaching the elastic fastener button and securing it with a knot.
That's everything! With a little cutting and mixing, you now have a stylish color block sweatshirt and sweatpants set. :)
