Cut your fabric

Use your tape measure to measure above and below your bust and then add five inches to those numbers. Next, measure around your waist and upper arms and add five inches to those numbers as well. Lay your fabric down flat and then fold it over so the right sides are touching. Mark your measurements onto the fabric and then cut. My cuts ended up being 22 inches long and 12 inches high. Place the pieces together and pin, right sides touching.

Cut out your sleeves

Repeat this process for the rest of your measurements, cutting out two pieces for your sleeves (on the fold). Mine ended up being ten inches long and seven inches high. Again, pin your pieces together with the right sides touching. Sew all your pinned areas with a zigzag stitch. Next, fold all the raw edges inwards (wrong sides touching) and pin. (Do this for all three pieces). Make sure your fold is big enough to weave an elastic through and that you left a gap to feed it through. Sew your fold down, sewing very close to the edge.

Finish the top

Slip your elastic through the gap and feed it through the tunnel. Do this on the top and the bottom of all three pieces and then close the gap. Next, line up the side seam of your sleeves and your body. Pin in place. Sew two inches before the seam and two inches after.
