Easy DIY Turmeric Cleanser and Soap Bar Recipe

Hi everyone. Today, I’m going to show you how to make two DIY beauty products using turmeric.
First, we’ll make a turmeric brightening soap, then a DIY turmeric cleanser. Both of these recipes are really simple, so let’s get started.
Disclaimer: When applied to the skin, turmeric can sometimes cause temporary staining, so please proceed with caution! You may wish to use slightly less turmeric than the recipe recommends.
Tools and materials:
- Bar of goat’s milk soap
- Knife
- Chopping board
- Saucepan
- Water
- Glass bowl
- Turmeric powder
- Cylinder cardboard box
- 2-3 organic oranges
- Tray
- Blender
- Glass jar
- 6 tbsp gram flour
- Honey, yogurt, or aloe vera (optional)
DIY turmeric soap
1. Cut up a bar of goat’s milk soap
To make your turmeric brightening soap, start by cutting up a bar of goat’s milk soap into small, uniform tubes.
2. Melt the soap
Then, pour water into a saucepan and place a glass bowl over the top to create a double boiler.
Add the soap to the glass bowl and melt it over low heat, stirring gently.
3. Add turmeric powder
Once the soap is melted, add 1 tsp of turmeric powder and stir.
4. Create a DIY soap mold
Next, take a cylinder cardboard box (such as a Pringle carton) and carefully cut the bottom off with a serrated knife.
This will be your soap mold.
5. Pour the mixture into the soap mold
Then, allow the soap to fully cool and harden. You can then peel away the mold.
Now your DIY turmeric soap is complete!
Turmeric cleanser
1. Create orange peel powder
To make your turmeric cleanser, begin by taking 2-3 organic oranges and washing them thoroughly.
Then, carefully peel the outer skin of the oranges.
Spread the peels out on a tray, and leave them to dry out in the sun for 3-5 days.
Once the peels are completely dry and crisp, blend them to create a fine orange peel powder.
You can store your orange powder in a dry, airtight glass container.
2. Combine the dry ingredients
In a bowl, mix 6 tbsp of gram flour (also known as besan) 2 tbsp of your homemade orange peel powder, and 1 tbsp of turmeric powder.
This is your DIY turmeric cleanser. You can store it in a dry, airtight glass container.
3. How to use DIY turmeric cleanser
To use, take 2-3 tbsp of your DIY turmeric cleanser and add water to create a paste. If you suffer from dry skin, you can also add a teaspoon of honey, yogurt, or aloe vera.
Apply the paste to damp skin. Lightly massage the paste into the skin in circular motions, then rinse and pat the skin dry.
