Holiday Plaid Outfits

Plaid during the holiday season is an iconic print. Whether it’s a dress, a blouse, or a pair of shoes, tartan and blackwatch are two holiday prints that are timeless this time of year. While I’m all for wearing tartan year round, there’s no better time to wear plaid than right now during the holidays. Today I’m sharing 3 outfits that incorporate these bold prints into timeless holiday outfits.

3 Holiday Plaid Outfits

First and foremost, if you’re going to wear plaid for the holidays, you need an entire tartan look. My favorite holiday plaid is always bright red. Over the years, I’ve added lots of bright tartan prints to my wardrobe, including this gorgeous tartan dress that I added just last year. (Similar linked here). It’s still classic and will be for years to come.

Just this year I added a new plaid to my wardrobe. Blackwatch plaid is another tartan print that incorporates dark greens and blues. Green is not only my favorite color, but also a great holiday color. If you’re looking for a more subtle holiday look, try blackwatch instead of the traditional red tartan. You can also get away with wearing blackwatch all winter and fall, not just during the holiday season. I picked up this mini dress from Hill House and sized up one from my usual size for a more comfortable fit.

If you’re obsessed with the classic bold tartan like I am, than you may consider adding a few pieces to mix and match throughout the holiday season. A tartan skirt, blouse, or even blazer are the perfect way to incorporate tartan to your wardrobe this holiday season! I’m proud to say I’m not the owner of a tartan skirt, blouse, pants, and blazer. So stay tuned for more fun tartan outfits coming soon!
