Today I am sharing with you some gorgeous pendant sea glass jewelry – this tutorial will show you how to drill through the glass.

As a family we love roaming beaches, hunting for treasures. We particularly love finding pieces of sea glass. But, once we get it home we then wonder what to make or do with the sea glass. We have several containers of collected sea glass ready for us to have a play and experiment with.

I have made some pendant jewelry. My husband has been experimenting with ways to create three-dimensional forms.

Place the piece of sea glass onto a piece of wood into a plastic box with water. Ensure the surface of the sea glass is covered in water. This stops everything overheating and absorbs the glass dust created from drilling.

Once you have drilled the sea glass add your contrasting sea glass, following the instructions for a suitable glue for glass. I used gorilla glue.

One the gorilla glue has fully dried I used jewelry pliers to add a jump ring through the drilled holes. Or you can make your own jump rings by wrapping jewelry wire around a pen or similar sized round object.

Alternatively, you can buy jewelry fittings.

Close the jump rings and add your earring or necklace fixtures.

In the past we have made sea glass Christmas decorations. I would love to know what you make with sea glass,
