2 Ways to Style a Scarf
Here are two ways to style a large scarf.
Do you prefer a skirt or a bolero?
They’re both easy to do, or you could even make both. A lightweight but opaque scarf works best.
Tools and materials:
- Large square or rectangular scarf
- Safety pins
Skirt style
1. Wrap
This is the most straightforward of the two looks.
Open the scart out.
Take it behind your back and bring it forwards around your waist.
2. Knot
Knot the two sides together at the top. Adjust the knot to one side and tuck it into the waist.
You can wear the skirt as a full wrap or open at the side, whatever you’re most comfortable with.
Bolero style
1. Drape
Fold the scarf in half
Place it behind your back with the folded edge at the top and drape it over your shoulders.
2. Pin
Bring one of the bottom corners under your arms and pin it to the scarf about 4 inches below the folded edge.
Repeat on the other side
3. Make the lapels
Lift the folded edge up and forwards, so it covers the pins and drapes down your front on each side.
