DIY Silky Hair Scarf

Materials you'll need:

1. A smooth and lightweight fabric of your choice (at least 54x6 inches will suffice).
2. A sewing machine
3. *optional* Rolled presser foot attachment.
4. Coordinating thread.
5. Scissors. (You could also opt for a rotary cutter + cutting mat)
6. Pins.
7. An iron.

Step-by-step guide:

Step 1: Begin by cutting your fabric. Measure and mark a rectangle measure 54x6 inches and cut using either scissors, or a rotary cutter and mat like I'm using above.

Step 2: Fold your fabric strip in half, then cut the ends of the hair scarf at a 45 degree angle. **This step is optional, but I think it gives the ends a more polished and pretty finish**

Step 3: Attach your rolled presser foot. If you've never used one before, check out this post for some helpful tips!

You can also choose to skip this option and just see your scarf with a standard presser foot. If you choose to go this route, simply fold all sides of your scarf 1/4" twice. Press, and pin in place.

Step 4: Sew along all sides of your hair scarf. When reaching the corners, be sure to insert your needle, lift the presser foot, pivot the fabric, then set your presser foot down and continue stitching.

Backstitch at the beginning and end, and snip off any loose threads.

Step 5: Once you've completed the stitching, give your hair scarf a final press with the iron, and voilà! You've just sewn your very own hair scarf with a rolled presser foot!
